Another event for Porters has come and gone but the Burton movie stop in Reno at The Underground will not be forgotten.

On Saturday night there were two showings of Burton's "It's Always Snowing Somewhere", a kiddie show at 7:30 with an autograph signing with Burton team riders, Mason Agguire, Danny Davis, Jussi Oksanen, Heikki Sorsa and Kelly Clark. The kiddies that showed up were totally stoked and walked out of The Underground with huge smiles and a bag of sweet swag.

The doors reopened at 9pm and the 21+ showing was under way. The night kicked off with Shawn Farmer's band Hunks of Metal rocking the roof off. Then our IT guy Josh Hall's band, Cohesion took the stage and threw down one of the tightest sets I have ever heard them play..... you guys rocked! Then the screen dropped down again and the second showing of Burton's "It's Always Snowing Somewhere" was off an running. As it was playing I was working the door... wait I worked the door most of the night, but I digress then the Supersucker fans started to pour in. Most had tickets but many had to pay at the door and when I told them it was $4.99 to get in they were super stoked. Corona was on hand as well supplying FREE Corona to the Porters crew and Burton team riders, as you would probably guess the free beer went fast. As soon as the movie was finished Eddie Spaghetti and the rest of the Supersuckers took the stage and I told the bouncer to let everyone else in for free because I wanted to rock. As always the Supersuckers played a rockin' set, they never disappoint me.

After the Supersuckers finished up their set the crowd thinned as it was like 1:30 am. For those that stuck around they were rewarded with some high strung punk rock from The Dirty Rigs and Anti Panti. Then the bar emptied and I went back to work... taking down banners, stickers and tents. I hope everybody that came out had a freaking awesome time, I know Chris Wilmouth did. Thanks to everyone that helped Trevor and myself, much appreciated.

4 nights in a row of drinks and partying

the night before last, i got to go up to the 75th floor of the Columbia Tower.  It was amazing.  Good times getting wined and dined so high up in the Seattle night.

the night before that I went to a CD Release of MadRad at the Chop Suey and I lost my ID that night.

Wednesday night I went to Vahalla, a beer pong and pool bar in Redmond.

This is gonna be one helluva show.....

PortersTahoe.com, Burton Snowboards, Corona, Transworld Snowboarding, Alpine Meadows, Ubisoft, Sobe and the Supersuckers are teaming up on the evening of Saturday, October 25th at The Underground club on 555 East 4th Street in downtown Reno, Nevada to present the Burton Team movie It’s Always Snowing Somewhere. A 7pm all-ages, free showing will be followed at 9pm by a $4.99 cover for a 21-and-over premier of the movie and after-party featuring the Supersuckers. Tickets for the second, 21+ screening are available online HERE or at any of Porters’ four North Lake Tahoe shop locations.

The movie It’s Always Snowing Somewhere follows the Burton Team traveling the northern hemisphere, from Austria to Alaska. It features action footage from Shaun White, Terje Haakonsen, Natasza Zurek, Gigi Rüf, JP Solberg, Heikki Sorsa, Nicolas Müller, Tadashi Fuse, Frederik Kalbermatten, Jeremy Jones, Jussi Oksanen, DCP, Mads Jonsson, Trevor Andrew, Keegan Valaika, Kevin Pearce, Danny Davis, Kazuhiro Kokubo, Mikkel Bang, Mikey Rencz and Peetu Piiroinen.

There are only ten other screenings of the movie across the country, and this will be the only showing anywhere in Northern California or Nevada this year. The first 100 people at the family-friendly, all-ages, free showing at 7pm sharp will receive a free lift ticket voucher to Alpine Meadows Resort and a free tour stop t-shirt. An autograph session will follow at 8pm with Burton Snowboards team riders Jussi Oksanen, Danny Davis, Kevin Pearce, Mason Aguirre, Heikki Sorsa, and Kelly Clark scheduled to appear. Doors open at 9pm for the 21+ movie and after party. Tickets are $4.99 in advance and this is expected to be a sold out show.

Local Tahoe bands Cohesion and Hunks of Metal will play before the second showing of the movie. Hunks of Metal feature early pioneers and legends of snowboarding such as Terry Kidwell, Shawn Farmer, and Bob Klein. When asked to play at the event Bob said, “Who has a chance to open for not only the Supersuckers, but a world class snowboard movie as well? We’re looking forward to rocking the Underground for the first time, hopefully not the last, unless we get too drunk and rowdy!” Immediately after the 11pm screening of It’s Always Snowing Somewhere the greatest live rock ‘n roll band in the world – Supersuckers – will take the stage for a rowdy and raucous set. More local bands are scheduled to finish the late night / early morning in the back lounge room while The Underground’s resident DJ will spin the rest of early morning in the main showroom.

The doors at Olympic Village Lodge at Squaw Valley opened at 7:30 last night and Standard’s movie AESTHETICA was set to start at 8:30. Fuel TV, a sponsor, was on hand filming and reporting from the event. The Fuel TV reporters for the night were Tina Dixon and Jim Rippey. Other sponsors for the night were Porters Lake Tahoe, VAS Entertainment and Squaw Valley USA. As the clock edged towards show time the line to get in was spreading into the parking lot. Soon a roar of applause erupted from inside Olympic Village Lodge. Show time!

Once inside it was shoulder to shoulder and there was standing room only to watch AESTHETICA. The way that the lodge is laid out gave everyone in every corner a view of Standard’snew movie release. Some highlights of AETHETICA was Johan Olofsson’s part on Burton’s Nofish… he was killing the steep and deeps on this bindingless wonder. Torstein Horgmo part where he had an amazing shot at Homewood Ski resort on the west shore of Lake Tahoe As well as the monster spring jump at Alpine Meadows. Another favorite was Mads Johnsson’s part with plenty of fresh powder and steeps. For the rail junkies there was enough urban shredding to feed that need.

When the AESTHETICA drew to a close people started to migrate outside to a cooler and fresher atmosphere then inside where it was smelly and hot. Many folks left because the 21 and under crowd was not allowed at the after party.

To kick off the second half of the night Fortress came out to melt some faces with some good old metal, Fortress was formed in the early 1990’s in Lake Tahoe melting guitar solos by legendary Dave Hatchett, head banging guitarist Brian Harrison, bass by Mike Hatchett and insane drums by Rob Jaeger… Lights, Camera, Action. A little Priest, Maiden, UfO, Metallica and some Slayer had everyone head banging, crowd surfing and beer drinking. The crowd was hungry and thirsty for more metal and Fortress gave it to them rocking out the standard crowd for a solid hour and a half.

Sat 10-20-07 FEATURING: DJ Phil Da Base
Phil Da Base, aka philly the kid, aka Dj Something else is a from Erie and has been spinning records and b-boying since 98. He has done countless shows from art debuts to hip hop battles and can always be found at the hottest clubs in the 412. He currently resides in Pittsburgh, and is the resident DJ at one of Pittsburgh's hottest clubs The Firehouse. His sets are always fresh and include everything from hip hop, house, funk, soul, reggae, drum n bass and mash ups. Phil also is an avid snowboard and took down the house at last years Habitat for Humanity snowboard comp last year at the peek. When he is not tearing it up on the tables or the dance floor you can find him tagging up some of the boards of peek's OG riders!! He is a long time friend of our own Tony Bagadonutz, and when the two are together no one quite knows what will go down He will be a great addition to the style and flavor of this years rail jam!

Tom Ski from All Over Productions will be doing an on mountain freestyle mural painting during the jam session at this years rail event. Tom Ski has been hitting up walls all over the east coast since 1998. He attended Pittsburgh Art Institute in 2001, then when right back to his roots of throwing up some of the sickest urban murals and tags. In 2005 he brought his street style to the canvas and had a critically acclaimed show in October of 06. Since his introduction into the scene he has had countless guest appearances at art shows and events all throughout the northeast. Some of his current projects include working on northwest Pa's largest (650') full color mural in the heart of downtown Erie. His production company is currently booked until midsummer of 08.
With Tom's amazing talents and unique approach to his painting he is able combine his urban flavor with modern art to create some of the most visual pieces in this area. Even though Tom's schedule is undoubtably crazy, he is excited to be able to have one of the first of many of his pieces portrayed on the slopes of PKNPK. With a little luck hopefully we will see much more of his work on our park features for this upcoming season!

Welp things are mellowed out, enjoying the single life and thanks killz, Shay and Kendrat for checking in with me, oh and swinny too and cherry23, you all rock.  I miss my homies on the site and I'll throw down for a laptop (part of the separation agreement, give up the llaptop) so I can chat it up with ya'll.  Hope to hear from some buds, leave me a comment eh?  I'm really looking forward to this winter with my new ultimate freedom, kinda fun I must say, although I've still claimed the higher ground for the most part and not hooked up no matter how tempting.  (except for this hostess girl at work, she took advantage of me in a weak moment ha ha)  So hey everyone, Joe, etc.  Hope to talk to you guys soon.  Kendrat did I write you a message or not?  I can't remember.  I'm going to ride with you and Mike this year fo sho, even if it means you two have to come to Tahoe.  Killz, the same, and riderspro I'm bummed I missed you while you were out here.

DYNASTAR TROUBLE MAKERS!

About the film...

LOST AND FOUND is the story of the extraordinary season of 2006.07 as seen through the eyes of world-class skiers and snowboarders. With global drought persisting and ski resorts closing around the world, athletes are forced to follow the snow, sending them deep into the uncharted north country of Alaska and Canada – including of course – the
Whistler area. Filmed almost entirely in North America, LOST AND FOUND is a testament to the terrain and conditions that only exist in the Western Hemisphere.

It wouldn’t be complete without mind-blowing performances by some of our favourite Whistler athletes, Ian McIntosh, Dana Flahr, Kye Petersen, and Victoria Jealouse. McIntosh returns to try one-upping the films best breakthrough performance in last year’s film – his own – while Flahr is pumped on his return from injuries, and it shows. Once again, the Whistler crew pretty much shows the pros how we rock here in Whistler, and well, how last winter rocked us.
This film will take you into the vast, unexplored Tordrillo Mountains of Alaska, proving that some of the best big mountain riding in the world is still completely undiscovered. Athletes take advantage of the bountiful winter in British Columbia, hit disturbing park features in Aspen and score over-the-head powder pillows at Skeena Heliskiing.
The winter of 2007 was feast or famine; LOST AND FOUND documents the feast.

Sponsored by: JEEP, The North Face, Rossignol, Dynastar/Lange, Powder Magazine, Recco, Apple, Outside Magazine, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and Burton
Local Sponsors: DYNASTAR, Glacier Shop, Rossignol, Whistler Blackcomb

YoYoYo!

Well, the camps are all over for another season. What a killer year! Thanks to all the coaches and sponsors for making this year such a success. We love you guys.

The JumpCamp wrap-up party was killer. Thanks to DJ Souls and Klink & Polish for rockin' all night!

Coach Matt Brown has lost his cell phone again. This will be his 352nd phone he's lost and the folks down at Roger's are really loving him right now.

In sad JumpCamp news, our pal of 13 years passed away last week. We will all miss him greatly and remember the fun times with our furry bro. Goodbye buddy.

R.I.P. Griff 1994 - 2007

Our bro Jeremy Koreski www.jeremykoreski.com has landed the gig of senior photographer for Canada's new surf magazine: SBC Surf. The new surf mag is full of mind-blowing photography from both coasts so go out and grab the premiere issue on newsstands now and see Jer's killer pics for yourself!

Road Trips

We've been going to Mount Arrowsmith lots lately. It's like Forbidden's little brother and we love shredding and bbqing up there. The only thing about Arrowsmith is that the local whiskey jack's are real territorial and are constantly divebombing us and trying to snatch our food. One flew into my mouth when I was eating last trip, no lie.

Also on that trip Brian broke his board and Ole got caught in a nice size avalanche. Ole was alright since he's very experienced in the backcountry but it still shook him up pretty good. "Whoowee!", he had to say after swimming out of the snow. Avalanches are serious, even in the spring time so be careful and keep an eye on each other out there.

The critics have spoken: "This Was Your Life"delivers!

Nathaniel Vossen's painfully long awaited film: "This Was Your Life" is finally done and he premiered it on Thursday in Vic and Friday in Van and let me tell ya', the parties were awsome! Tons of people came out of the woodwork for both nights and we got to pal around with some old buds we haven't seen for a long time. Make sure to go see Jaydee at Onethirtythree in Courtenay or wherever your local skate/snowboard shop is and reserve yourself a copy of this magical film.
* Viewer discretion is advised

Thanks to all the sponsors for the prizes, giveaways and support over the years! Go out and support these companies and people that support JumpCamp.

See ya' at the beach!

Fort Minor Remember The Name Lyrics
You ready?! Lets go!
Yeah, for those of you that want to know what we're all about
It's like this y'all (c'mon!)

[Chorus]
This is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will
Five percent pleasure, fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

[ Mike Shinoda ]Mike
! - He doesn't need his name up in lights
He just wants to be heard whether it's the beat or the mic
He feels so unlike everybody else, alone
In spite of the fact that some people still think that they know him
But f*ck em, he knows the code
It's not about the salary
It's all about reality and making some noise
Makin the story - makin sure his clique stays up
That means when he puts it down Tak's pickin it up! let's go!

[ Takbir ]
Who the hell is he anyway?
He never really talks much
Never concerned with status but still leavin them star struck
Humbled through opportunities given to him despite the fact
That many misjudge him 'cause he makes a livin from writin raps
Put it together himself, now the picture connects
Never askin for someone's help, to get some respect
He's only focused on what he wrote, his will is beyond reach
And now when it all unfolds, the skill of an artist

[ Ryu ]
It's just twenty percent skill
Eighty percent fear Be a hundred percent clear cause Ryu is ill
Who would've thought that he'd be the one that set the west in flames
Then I heard him wreckin with The Crystal Method, "Name Of The Game"
Came back dropped Megadef, took em to church
I like bleach man, why you have the stupidest verse?
This dude is the truth, now everybody givin him guest spots
His stock's through the roof I heard he f*ckin with S. Dot!

[Chorus]
This is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will
Five percent pleasure, fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!
[ Lyrics found on http://www.metrolyrics.com ]

[ Ryu ]
They call him Ryu The Sick
And he's spittin fire with Mike
Got him out the dryer he's hot
Found him in Fort Minor with Tak
Been a f*ckin anihilist porcupine
He's a prick, he's a cock
The type woman want to be with, and rappers hope he get shot
Eight years in the makin, patiently waitin to blow
Now the record with Shinoda's takin over the globe
He's got a partner in crime, his shi*t is equally dope
You wont believe the kind of shi*t that comes out of this kid's throat

[ Takbir ]
Tak! - He's not your everyday on the block
He knows how to work with what he's got
Makin his way to the top
People think its a common owners name
People keep askin him was it given at birth
Or does it stand for an acronym? No
He's livin proof, Got him rockin the booth
He'll get you buzzin quicker than a shot of vodka with juice
Him and his crew are known around as one of the best
Dedicated to what they do give a hundred percent

[ Mike Shinoda ]
Forget Mike - Nobody really knows how or why he works so hard
It seems like he's never got time
Because he, writes every note and he writes every line
And I've seen him at work when that light goes on in his mind
It's like a design is written in his head every time
Before he even touches a key or speaks in a rhyme
And those motherf*ckers he runs with, those kids that he signed?
Ridiculous, without even trying, how do they do it?!

[Chorus - repeat 2x]
This is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will
Five percent pleasure, fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

[Outro - Mike Shinoda]
Yeah! Fort Minor
M. Shinoda - Styles of Beyond
Ryu! Takbir! Machine Shop!

Whistler is calling everyone........rockin' down there on the 20th.........

Finally,I have been  having the guts to try just about anything this weekend and finally had a rockin day on the slopes. I started off saturday at 5 am waiting to go to Mt. Ashland and carve it up, but that morning it rained and got kinda down cause i thought it would suck balls. Turns out all the hard pack turned to wet, spongey soft pack making it like a thin powder. After getting a rocky start with rental stuff, i finally got out there an hour after we got to the lodge. i took a run on the windsor and shredded it to pieces. A couple short runs on comer then a quick, early lunch to calm down my bottemless pit i call a stomach. I was carving alone so i decided to make some friends that are better than me to help get me pumped. I switched to a new friend and thats where i learned the most that day. The kid i teamed up with showed me a whole bunch of new tree runs to test my reflexes and get me going. Thats when i decided to learn as fast as possible that day, i learned shiftys,180s,indys,tail grabs and shifty butters. One run in particular was a tree run that i had done twenty times before, i flinched, i saw a tree, i caught an edge, i tumbled through trees like a drunk gone wild. Thankfully ididnt hit my head, and on got shook up. At the end of that run, we went into the park to jump a table top that we had hit every run before that, except this was diffrent was diffrent, this i was invincible, could take the world and do it again, all before i got to the lift. I bombed it perfectly, looking like a pro, got to the top knowing im the king for the split second, i was going to fly forever, i was the best on the mountain. I got to the lip and intinctivly grabed a indy, floated, boned it for style, stuck the landing and rode away stoked. In awe of what i had done. the end to the perfect day at the mountain.

[ Ryu ]
They call him Ryu The Sick
And he's spittin fire with Mike
Got him out the dryer he's hot
Found him in Fort Minor with Tak
Been a f*ckin anihilist porcupine
He's a prick, he's a cock
The type woman want to be with, and rappers hope he get shot
Eight years in the makin, patiently waitin to blow
Now the record with Shinoda's takin over the globe
He's got a partner in crime, his shi*t is equally dope
You wont believe the kind of shi*t that comes out of this kid's throat

[ Takbir ]
Tak! - He's not your everyday on the block
He knows how to work with what he's got
Makin his way to the top
People think its a common owners name
People keep askin him was it given at birth
Or does it stand for an acronym? No
He's livin proof, Got him rockin the booth
He'll get you buzzin quicker than a shot of vodka with juice
Him and his crew are known around as one of the best
Dedicated to what they do give a hundred percent

[ Mike Shinoda ]
Forget Mike - Nobody really knows how or why he works so hard
It seems like he's never got time
Because he, writes every note and he writes every line
And I've seen him at work when that light goes on in his mind
It's like a design is written in his head every time
Before he even touches a key or speaks in a rhyme
And those motherf*ckers he runs with, those kids that he signed?
Ridiculous, without even trying, how do they do it?!

[Chorus - repeat 2x]
This is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will
Five percent pleasure, fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

[Outro - Mike Shinoda]
Yeah! Fort Minor
M. Shinoda - Styles of Beyond
Ryu! Takbir! Machine Shop!
